Perry’s Ice Cream started as a milk dairy in 1918. In 1932, Morton Perry with son Marlo started making ice cream for the local school. Ice cream began to replace the milk business and today Perry’s produces 290 ice cream products. That converts into approximately 11 million gallons of ice cream produced each year. Perry’s is a leader of ice cream manufacturing not only in the Buffalo, New York region but across the northeast, as well. Perry’s has begun expansion into the U.S. southeastern states, as well as into other countries. In 1998, Perry’s was organized under the United Auto Workers (U.A.W.) as the bargaining agent for its members. In January 1999, we negotiated our first contract. Presently in our second contract, Perry’s and the U.A.W. are working very well together. There have been many improvements made to the way of life at Perry’s due to this relationship. We have approximately 140 union members at Perry’s, who do everything from handling raw ingredients to a finished product. If you would like to take a tour of the Perry’s Ice Cream plant, you may do so through Perry's Ice Cream web site.
